As we speed headlong toward the beginning of the 4th
quarter of January 2015, I realize that the 21st of this month
signals the one-year anniversary since we launched Geyer Global Partners to
help European companies to develop and implement strategies for market entry
and growth in North America. It has been
a great first year, and it has laid the groundwork for exciting opportunities
and growth in our second year.
First and foremost, I have had the chance to meet and
consult with a number of fascinating people from a number of incredible
companies all over Europe. From new
startup ventures, to financial services consultancies, to midsized specialty
manufacturing concerns, to large technology companies, I have not only been
able to share my own experience and insights with some truly brilliant
innovators and leaders, but also to develop new skills and insights through
them. I would like to thank all those
who have taken the time to speak with me, and who have given me the opportunity
to serve.
Second, I have had the chance to attend some very
interesting events to see products and services that are at every stage of
development – from basic idea through prototype to finished deliverable. From small meet ups in offices in cities like
Berlin and Hamburg, to large-scale conventions in cities like Hannover, I have enjoyed
seeing European invention and innovation being brought to market.
Third, I have been invited to share ideas in more academic
settings, training the entrepreneurs and leaders of the next generation. Having written course material for an MBA
program specializing in renewable energy technologies, and being on a
talent-rich mentor panel for the newly established Academy for CorporateEntrepreneurship, I have been able to work first-hand with the people and the
technologies that will lead economic growth in Europe throughout the 21st
Century.
Finally, and most importantly for the future success of
Geyer Global Partners, I have developed very fruitful relationships with new
partners who provide complementary services to European companies seeking
market entry solutions in the United States.
Together we are working on a large and exciting project, to be announced
in the upcoming weeks, which will provide tremendous strategic and practical
value to all of our clients. Stay tuned
here for our formal announcement. But
suffice to say, I am incredibly excited about the impact that this project will
have for our clients and for the future growth of Geyer Global Partners.
Thank you to everybody who has helped make the first year of
Geyer Global Partners so exciting and successful. I look forward in our second year to seeing
all of you again, and to meeting many new people to discuss your ideas and
plans for expansion into North America.
I remain as convinced as ever that there is great opportunity for growth
in North America for European companies that are willing to make the move to Go Global.
